We are colllaborating with Guy Adema at Denali National Park. This project will undertake an analysis of glacier change in Denali National Park and Preserve. Through this project, the National Park Service (NPS) will work with the University of Alaska Geophysical Institute (UAF-GI) to analyze and interpret data acquired by both UAF-GI and NPS. We will investigate changes in overall glacier extent through analysis of historic satellite imagery and assess surface elevation changes in the Muldrow glacier through comparison of a recently developed LiDAR digital elevation model with laser altimetry profiles collected by UAF-GI. The Park Service contracted Aero-Metric to produce a LiDAR DEM of the Muldrow and Traleika Glaciers. glaciers in Sept. 2006.

Click on the images below for a detailed shaded relief map from this DEM and some results from differencing it vs. the USGS NED DEM.
